About Valuation of Intellectual Assets

LES members are interested in the commercialisation of intellectual property and intellectual assets. That leads to involvement in valuation of this kind of intangible, but very important, property.

LES often has meetings in which valuation issues are discussed and there are articles on the subject in our newsletter. Use our search engine (top right of every page) with "valuation" to find information.

There is a detailed discussion of Valuation on the web site of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) here.

The European Patent Office (EPO) provides patent valuation information here.

The UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) also provides basic information on valueing intellectul property here.

"Brands are one of the most valuable assets for any company, accounting for about a third of shareholder value on average" Read about the comments of OHIM (the EU Trade Mark Registry), and download the 2010 survey of the world's top brands here.
