The Ninth Annual World Intellectual Property Day Conference

22 April 2016 12:00 to 14:00

Friday 22nd April 2016, 12:00 - 14:00

Mackenzie Building, 172 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1QX

This global event was set up in 2000 by the Geneva based World IP Organization, a United Nations agency dedicated to the use and promotion of intellectual property - .

World IP Day aims to raise awareness of the impact IP has on daily life, to teach us about how IP protection promotes creativity and innovation and to celebrate the contribution of creativity and innovation to society.

This event is an opportunity for us to celebrate Intellectual Property and World IP Day and to reinforce the importance of IP to Scotland and why it needs to be respected and protected. WIPO’s suggested theme this year is “Digital Creativity: Culture Reimagined”.

This very popular and free event will once again be chaired by Roisin Higgins QC, Advocate and IP law specialist and Graeme McWilliams, Legal Adviser, Standard Life. Our guest speakers will be confirmed in due course.

The conference is open to all solicitors and advocates, trainees and devils, students and other professionals with an interest in IP and is an excellent networking opportunity.

As in previous years, we expect this conference to sell out fast!
