Intellectual Property: Public Research Organisations in the Spotlight – Pitfalls for Innovators and Researchers

The talk will take place at NovaUCD, Belfield Innovation Park, University College Dublin, Belfield, Dublin 4.

This LES Seminar will be conducted in conjunction with NovaUCD at its Belfield Campus and will involve a special presentation by John Mc Manus, a long standing member of LES Ireland, of aspects of his recently published book Intellectual Property: From Creation to Commercialisation – A Practical Guide for Innovators & Researchers.

The Seminar will be followed by the official launch of Dr. McManus’ book at the same venue and all LES members are invited to attend.

John Mc Manus originally trained as a scientist and applied his interests to research and product development in the chemical and life science industries. He has extensive experience in the development and delivery of training courses on the topics of IP management and exploitation of research and has presented at training workshops for the EPO’s European Patent Academy. He was Group Intellectual Property Manager with the nanotechnology company NTERA Ltd and also held positions at Enterprise Ireland and NovaUCD.

There is no fee for the seminar but attendance is limited and pre-registration is required.  Accordingly, please notify Peter Bolger, Secretary of the LES of your intention to attend by sending an e-mail with subject matter “LES talk of 25th May 2012” to pcarey@MHC.ie.
