29 November 2012 17:30 to 20:00

“IP insurance – too complicated and too expensive – why bother?”

Registration opens from 16.30. The main meeting will commence from 17.00.

Brodies LLP, 2 Blythswood Square, Glasgow, G2 4AD, UK

CIPA Points (2 hours accredited to CIPA Points)

This meeting is kindly sponsored by Brodies Solicitors

We are delighted to have Jim Kirk, of Scottish SME ROCEP Ltd, who will talk about IP insurance (which he has benefited from for over 20 years), including its relevance for US litigation and numerous “out of Court settlements”.  Jim will talk about the confidence of having well tailored IP insurance and how you can use it to handle IP infringement with even the biggest infringers on worldwide basis.

Furthermore we have Erik Alsegard from Munich Re who will be making a joint presentation with John Keen from AON highlighting the value of IP insurance and its role as a business enabler.  Together they will demystify IP Insurance as a potential key weapon for IPR owners and businesses including SMEs. They will give us an insight into the right wrong and wrong scenarios for IP insurance and outline the actual costs involved, underwriting considerations and claims scenarios.

As changes are due to come about in the Scottish system of court costs recovery, this type of Insurance is set to become more popular as a means to secure and protect IP.

As always there will be an opportunity during the event and afterwards over drinks, to network and speak further with presenters.  Just complete and return the attached form with the relevant payment £30.00 (members) and £45.00 (non-members).
