Licensing Law - Keep Up To Date with Legal and Business Issues
LES Britain & Ireland has an active Laws Committee. All LES members are invited to join in and help review proposals for law changes and related issues. The functions of the Committee are to update members - by publishing articles in our newsletter NewsXchange and arranging seminars - and, where appropriate, to respond to official requests for comments and submissions. Contact the Committee Chair. Fuller details of the Committee are given at the bottom of this page.

LES Laws Committee
The role of the Laws Committee of LES B&I is to lobby on proposed changes to the law which may affect licensing and to educate and inform members of LES B&I on those changes. The Committee focuses most closely on changes to the law in the UK and the EU, but it also tries to keep an eye on major changes abroad, particularly in the USA. The Committee is in regular communication with the UKIPO and its associated bodies, and provides input to the EU and the European Patent Office, on matters affecting IP law and practice. The educating/information role is carried out in a number of ways:
- Articles in News Exchange
- Contributions at the LES (B&I) Annual Conference
- Evening meetings
The Committee meets five times a year usually, in Central London. Members who cannot come in person are encouraged to join in by telephone conferencing.
If you would like to help with the work of the Committee, work please contact the Chairman, Robin Nott, on firstname.lastname@example.org or by ‘phone on 020 8748 6399
